Two-Week Camper - Saturday Elective Activity Options*

Cake Decorating: Have you ever wanted to learn how to make beautiful cakes? Learn how to mix up icing for caking decorating and practice making borders, flowers, leaves and more. Your sheet cakes will be served for dessert on Saturday evening!

Discover Scuba: An introduction to scuba diving taught by certified scuba instructors from East Coast Diving. Incorporates snorkeling practice and scuba diving in the camp pool. Additional release form required (www.sandyhillcamp.com/scuba.pdf).

Kayaking: Join us for brief orientation to kayaking. Then we’ll head out on a short trip to a nearby beach, take a dip, and paddle back to camp on our sea kayaks.

Learn the Ropes: Are you a Ropes Staff Wannabe? Learn some of what the Ropes Staff are taught about knot tying, staff harnesses, basic rescues and more.

Lighthouse Hike: Take a trip down the road and hike the scenic half-a-mile trail to Turkey Point Lighthouse at the headwaters of the Chesapeake

Model Rocketry: Build your own miniature model rocket and watch it soar into space.

Motorboat Fishing Trip: Campers and staff will pack up the fishing gear and head out in our 20-foot fishing boat to see what’s biting. No license required for folks under 16.

Outdoor Cooking:Learn to build a cooking fire and prepare meats, different types of breads, and more over using minimal utensils.

Pontoon Boat - Sun and Swim: Take a relaxed ride on one of our pontoon boats, drop anchor in a shallow cove, and enjoy some swimming and sunbathing.

Saturday Cartoons: After a whole week at camp, you might need to catch up on SpongeBob! Bring your pillow and relax in the air conditioning with some of your favorite Saturday morning cartoons.

Sandy Hill Spa: After a week of camp, you deserve some pampering! Learn to give (and get!) foot massages, pedicures, and manicures. Treat your skin to a facial and maybe even some make-up for a change.

Saturday Stablehand: Join us at the barn to help with feeding, grooming, and barn chores, and give the horses a little extra love on their "day off"! Must be comfortable around horses. There is no riding in this activity.

Wakeboarding: Learn to wakeboard or improve your skills.
